preschool, meet the future

Our international team of experts has created a comprehensive pedagogy, known as the Kido Early Years Program. This innovative system incorporates the best practices from teaching philosophies from around the world, such as Montessori, Reggio Emilia and the theory of Multiple Intelligences. The result is a play-based learning experience that combines child and teacher-led activities with free and structured play in inspirational settings. The program is customised to the developmental ability of each child. Our program adheres to the EYFS and incorporates proprietary STEM, Art, Literacy and Numeracy programs.
Our nursery program is split into six levels. While each level roughly corresponds to an age group, in practice, we usually move children to the next level when we feel they are ready.
The first stage in a child's journey at Kido is the Discoverers' level. Our highly skilled practitioners provide children with a range of age and stage-appropriate activities to challenge children's educational development. Furthermore, educators target children's language, vocabulary, cognitive, and physical development. This level is designed to benefit children under 15 months, although it is flexible to meet each child's individual needs. For this age group, we offer a parent-child or a mother-toddler program. This is an accompanied program where one parent attends the sessions with the child during the week. Practitioners follow the curriculum specially designed for this age group with the children while guiding the parents into our immersive program to help the child gain a solid foundation as the first step of their learning journey in preschool. The program is also offered as a full-day option for those parents who wish to avail of it. This option is an unaccompanied program, where the child attends the nursery without the parent.
Once a child becomes a secure walker, their journey continues in our Adventurers class. Within this age group, they will experience a more in-depth and structured curriculum suited to their age, interests, and growing range of abilities. We integrate outdoor activities for more extended periods of time to cater to children's increasing mobility. Their educational journey continues with the incorporation of the Kido academic modules of K-Schol (Literacy), K-Math (Mathematics), K-STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math), Studio K (Art and Creativity), K-Gym (Physical Education), and project, and problem-based learning on Explorer Days. Practitioners work closely with parents to foster children's personal, social and emotional development, building on skills like toilet learning, eating, and independence in dressing and undressing themselves. Our Adventurer's learning journey starts at 18 months.
The Experimenters level is our entry class to pre-school, where children become more secure and independent in the skills they have mastered and thrive in their preparation for school. Practitioners work with each child's individual needs to create an enabling learning environment, to facilitate exceptional experiences. The children will continue to benefit from Kido Explorer Days, a child-initiated project, problem, and thinking-based learning time where practitioners plan unique activities to stimulate children's curiosity and desire for knowledge in specific topics. Through skilled observation, educators customize the learning experiences to their children's interests and levels and connect these to real-life situations and experiences. Focus topics are explored through a central narrative and enhanced by class outings and first-hand experiences or sharing experiences within the Kido international community. Parent participation is always encouraged should a topic and parent's skill set align. During their time in the Experimenters class, children will continue participating in the Kido academic modules of K-Schol, K-Math, K-STEM, Studio K, and K-Gym. They will work on extending their knowledge of concepts and skills across all areas. The Experimenters' age group is for children between the ages of 2 years 3 months, and 3 years and 3 months.
The Pathfinders level is the next stage of a child's educational journey at Kido. Within this class, children benefit from rich learning experiences with a particular focus on school readiness tailored to each child's individual learning journey. The children of this learning level embrace all curriculum areas and local opportunities to enhance, continue, deepen, and further challenge their learning. Children will experience a mixture of adult lead and child-initiated learning experiences through play, exploration, investigation, and structured learning. During their time in the Pathfinder class, children will continue participating in the Kido academic modules of K-Schol, K-Math, K-STEM, Studio K, K-Gym, and Explorer Days extending their knowledge of concepts and skills across all areas. During this learning level, children become increasingly independent and self-motivated through the various educational quests they go on and the methods of working they experience. They will experience working independently, in pairs, and in teams during the Explorer Days project journeys and take on various roles within their groups to drive their learning forward. The Pathfinder's age group is for children between the ages of 3 years and 3 months and 4 years and 3 months.
The Seekers level is the next stage of a child's educational journey at Kido. Within this class, we continue building a complete understanding of every child's ideal learning environment and use this knowledge to create customized learning opportunities and experiences for everyone. These personalized experiences help children become more creative, inspire a love of learning from a young age and help each child achieve their full potential. When children progress through the learning levels at Kido, around four years old, they usually understand math and literacy concepts at a preschool (or higher) level. Educators deepen, refine, and challenge children's skills and knowledge across the Kido academic modules of K-Schol, K-Math, K-STEM, Studio K, K-Gym, and Explorer Days throughout the learning level. By the end of Seekers, children usually reach the outcomes expected in the first year of elementary schools around the world (Year 1 - UK, Grade 1 - US, Class 1-India). Along the way, we also introduce coding through apps, photography, video editing, writing stories, and much more. Children continue to develop their independence through actively participating in self-assessment of their work, thus becoming increasingly self-motivated learners. The Seeker's age group is for children between the ages of 4 years and 3 months and 5 years and 3 months.
The Pioneers level is the final stage of a child's educational journey at Kido. Within this class, we further deepen, elevate, challenge, and simultaneously consolidate children's learning. In this learning level, educators work with children on more advanced and refined topics, skills, and concepts across all the Kido academic modules of K-Schol, K-Math, K-STEM, Studio K, K-Gym, and Explorer Days. The cyclical approach at the core of our Kido Curriculum ensures that concepts are revisited, connected, and refined as a child progresses through the learning levels. Educators weave new concepts into the fabric of children's existing knowledge and build the new information onto these, along with an associated real-life application. Concepts are never taught in isolation. Educators always support children's cross-curricular connection-making process, thus ensuring that the new information becomes part of children's practical knowledge. By the time a child leaves Kido, we ensure they are equipped with the educational and social skills to flourish in a primary school environment. A love of learning and a desire to achieve is our hope for every child. The Pioneers' age group is for children between the ages of 5 and 6 years.

Weeks in Kido are divided into Skills Days and Explorer Days. Throughout the program, we integrate project-based learning, and thinking-based learning into our approach.
Skills Days provide children with an opportunity to delve into specific topics, i.e., literacy, maths, STEM, arts and crafts, knowledge and understanding of the world and many more, through station-based focus activities.
Children tackle child and adult-led projects, problem, and enquiry-based learning programs, which integrate the knowledge they learn during the Skills Days in a cross-curricular manner. Over the weeks of each cycle, children will develop a project through arts and crafts, math, science, literacy, or music-related activities.
